When we speak of "humanitarians" we mean much more than simply people fighting against hunger and poverty. That has a lot to do with it but it is not the definition of the word humanitarian.

The Oxford English dictionary defines humanitarian as follows:

humanitarian 
- adjective

"concerned with or seeking to promote human welfare"

To us at It'sOneHumanity, a humanitarian is someone who cares about the human condition in general. That, to us, implies everything from human rights to sustainable development, poverty eradication to gender equality, and climate justice to peace and security. 

With The Humanitarian Social Network, we aim to turn more people into so-called humanitarians, make people all over the world realize that the term is a much more far-reaching, encompassing concept than most people would think. Doing so, we're bringing the world one step closer to our vision of a world that knows no borders and collectively confronts global issues as one humanity, for the better of humanity as a whole.
